Primer 160 is used as a preparation agent to promote adhesion of Marineflex to porous surfaces such as but not limited to timbers and concrete.
Surface Preparation
The bonding surface must be relatively clean and dry.
Contaminated surfaces should be cleaned with a 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol and water mixture. A clean lint free cloth should be used.
Application
Shake Primer 160 well before using.
Apply a thin uniform coating to the bonding surface using the minimum amount that will fully cover the surface.
Primer 160 may be applied with a brush, swab, pressurised flow gun, knurled roller or other similar application equipment.
Allow Primer 160 to dry thoroughly before applying sealant or a second coat.
Drying time is approximately 15 minutes at room temperature.
Ensure the primed surface remains free from contaminants prior to applying any tape.
Removal
Primer 160 can be removed with acetone
Vigorous scrubbing may be required.
Trade Sealants Ltd recommends that the user tests removal using acetone in a small area to ensure the substrate surface is not affected.
Note: Carefully read and follow manufacturer’s precautions and directions for use when handling cleaning solvents.
